Beneath The Surface Productions is a purpose-driven media company founded by filmmaker and producer Ijeoma C. Egu, bringing over 17 years of experience in video production, cinematography, and visual storytelling. Her work spans narrative film, documentary, public health media, and community storytelling, including serving as Director of Photography on short films, independent horror projects, and a feature-length animated film.
The company is known for amplifying underrepresented voices through projects such as a seven-episode podcast exploring the connections between Africa and America in hip-hop culture, as well as educational media created in partnership with nonprofit organizations focused on health, safety, and the achievements of adults with developmental disabilities. For over eight years, Ijeoma has also taught video production to individuals with intellectual disabilities, promoting inclusion within the film industry.
In addition to video production, Beneath The Surface Productions provides professional photography services, including family portraits, headshots, runway and live events, and behind-the-scenes film photography. Through every project, the company is committed to going beyond the surface — using media to educate, empower, and connect communities.
